Mitsubishi Motors and its dealers play their part in the communities we serve around the country.
Mitsubishi Motors is a driving force behind the New Zealand Olympic and Paralympic Teams, through Beijing and on to the 2012 Olympics in London.
The company also puts Mitsubishi’s advanced automotive technology behind two vital services based in our head office home town of Wellington – the Life Flight Trust and Wellington Free Ambulance.
MMNZ Partners New Zealand Olympic team
Mitsubishi Motors New Zealand has become a driving force behind New Zealand’s Olympic Team, with a five-year Principal Partnership relationship linking the three-diamond brand with the Olympic Movement’s famous rings.
Managing director John Leighton said: “We are excited and honoured to be supporting our Olympic Team as they represent our country through the Winter Olympics at Vancouver, the Commonwealth Games at Delhi and then the London Olympics in 2012.
“At Mitsubishi, we identify strongly with the spirit of the Olympic movement – to inspire and excel, and to achieve brilliant results. We look forward to helping Kiwi athletes achieve their dreams,” John said.
As part of its commitment Mitsubishi Motors has provided the New Zealand Olympic Committee (NZOC) with four black Outlanders, all sporting the Olympic rings. Swimming legend Danyon Loader drives a Mitsubishi-supplied black Triton as he travels the country in his new role as Olympic ambassador.
“We’re thrilled to have Mitsubishi Motors join us as we head towards London in 2012,” said NZOC secretary general Barry Maister. “The New Zealand Olympic Committee is about creating a high-performance and inspirational environment for our athletes at the Olympic Games. Mitsubishi’s commitment will see them right behind us as we help our athletes make New Zealand proud.”

VALERIE ADAMS
Mitsubishi puts power behind Valerie Adams

“Valerie’s outstanding performance at Beijing puts her up with the greats of New Zealand sport and Mitsubishi is privileged to be a part of that,” says Mitsubishi Motors New Zealand general manager of sales and marketing Peter Wilkins.
“She’s only at the beginning of what looks like a long, successful career – at just 24, she’s a real inspiration.”
WFA
Supporting Wellington Free Ambulance
Wellington Free Ambulance is New Zealand’s only metropolitan ambulance service that is free. Mitsubishi Motors is helping to keep it that way.
With a team of 120 full timers and over 50 volunteers on call 24 hours, 7 days the service travels over a million kilometres a year to help around 40,000 people – about 110 a day.
Supporting them in their work are two high-visibility Mitsubishi Pajeros, a Lancer wagon and a Triton ute.
The Pajeros give WFA incident controllers transport that can access almost any site in the region. They’re not ambulances but carry additional support equipment for front line crews. The Lancer wagon operates in their home alarm service and the Triton is used as a service vehicle for the ambulance fleet.
